THE CENOBIO GROUP, 1962–63

The quest for a “minimum-experimental-symbolic” (minimo sperimentale simbolico) found a proving ground and discussion forum in the group formed with Ettore Sordini, Angelo Verga, Arturo Vermi and Agostino Ferrari. This short but intense adventure would prove to be the only Milanese group to develop the “gestural-art trend”, in contrast to the various avant-garde groups that identified with objective art, kinetic art and pop art.
